Riesling Innere Bergen 2023
The Innere Bergen vineyard is situated south of Huettberg, which forms the highest point in Schrattenthal. Here the slopes are steeper and the soils barren and stony. This prime location lies between 270 and 300 m above sea level and faces south. The subsoil consists of granite with a very sparse covering of humus. On this primary rock site the Riesling really shows all its class. Here, too, we have planted out various old selections of Riesling vines.
- Complex aroma of blossoms and ripe stone fruit, mineral-tinged herbal spice, delicate smoky hints that clearly come from the terroir, lots of creaminess on the palate, juicy fruit and apricot, lively acidity, animating spiciness, enormous depth, definitely needs time in the glass, long, powerful finish.
- Excellent with grilled meat dishes, goose, duck and wild fowl, fattier fish such as salmon and catfish, sushi and sashimi, as well as mature white and red smear cheeses
